Hi Sara, You can! I grew it for a couple of years in a pot when I lived in Panania (low-on-space-rental) and also the last few years in the Hawkesbury. It grows well in Sydney, we got a bumper crop from just 3 store bought pieces, harvested a year later. We would have gotten even more kgs if I have know it doesn't like direct sun, ours was a little sunburnt. We ended up making about 100 bottles of ginger beer and sharing them around :-) I'm going to plant again this weekend, close to a nice warm fence but out of direct sun. I'm also going to experiment with water loving herbs as a ground cover. I hope this will increase humidity and allow me a second crop for the space. Since ginger is upright, I can plant a companion ground-cover. Maybe strawberries or tarragon? Something that can handle lots of water. Cheers and happy gardening, Michelle

Just planting lots of different capsicum in next few days - seedlings. Previously have had lot of bugs attack them...after all Port Macquarie is bug central so would appreciate any hints - will put them near the parsley and basil that might help? Don't like sprays or poisons. Hope you can help thanks.

Also try Greenpatch seeds, they'll post a small plant, mine are doing great from them.

Water with seaweed solution this week, next week gogo juice and continue for a few weeks. I would apply one or two applications of liquid calcium to the seedlings and soil also.

Just ordered rosella seeds on Bid or Buy but now informed cant supply after paying and waiting 8 weeks. Can anyone help with some seed. I really would appreciate it. We grew it in our garden when I was young so there must be some available.

It's not really worth the effort. They should grow, but will form very small bulbs.

Gypsum does work but it is not instant. I prepare a new area I want to plant with lots of gypsum six months before I want to plant it up. Then at 3 months before I dig it again and add really rich good compost. Finally when it comes time to plant I did it again and then plant. My garden gets lots of positive comments. Do no buy "doctored" gypsum where sand has been added. You can tell later if it has had sand added as the gypsum and the sand join together to make hard unusable lumps. The gypsum you buy should be 99 per cent all gypsum.

Dear Sir, i have planted papaya trees in my yard. They are organic & flourishing very well . People got amazed when they see our papayas, they look different from south african pawpaws. They are very sweet & juicy, have also smaller trees growing. I also planted brocolli, lettuce, carrots & spinash. My challenge is not having enough space to grow all these bcos am now planning to plant sweetcorn, watermelon, spanspek or canrteloupe & pumpkin. I need mentorship & somyeone who can help with a land to lease or make partnership to expand business. Your advice & help will be much appreciated.

Hi! I live in CRANBOURNE Melbourne Victoria! Last season I grew a huge crop of spookie pumpkins and they gave my wifey her pumpkin fix till now! We have 3 left and they have held together perfectly! I am eager to grow butternut pear shaped pumpkins here and am just wondering if you could help me out with some advice?? What to feed em? When to seed em? What position? Do they respond to compost? I'm at Southern Highlands at Marulan, our temperature here is very cold always below 4 degree centigrade and a lot of times is minus below zero. I did not plant anything for the last 3 months because I'm worried with frost. Can really any of those plants suggested for those months survive the frost? Frost came so early as early as May so all my plants died. I want to start planting as suggested like onions, lettuce this month or next? What else i can plant?
