moving to magnetic island always drank my beet root juice grown my own and made my own juice best possible times in tropical climate of magnetic island queensland do i need some sort of climate controlled room enviroment

My daughter decorated and planted carrot seeds at Bunnings. The bunnings seeds were on cardboard like matches that you stick in the soil. There was multiple seeds on each piece so when do i split up the plants so they have room to grow? The green tops are still very thin and fine but are starting to get that carrot looking leaf.

I wouldn't as carrots don't like root disturbance. wait till some are edible size and use them as baby carrots

I brought some Uchuvas (the fruit of physalis peruviana) back from Colombia this past January. Maybe 10. I just put them barely under some soil in a pot. took me a little bit to sort out that they liked the sun but not direct, so I found a shaded area along the house and watered everyday. have a pretty good sized bush now, with a consistent roll of flowers, the first waves of which are now uchuvas growing in their lanterns.

I have them on a full sun spot, does that reduce the yield of the fruit? I grew them last fall( overwinter in the house). I moved them outside this May or June. It just started to flowering now.

Last week of September, right now is the peak Poha time for SE Wisconsin, the fruits started being picked late August, from seeds started indoors mid April - not too early. Hopefully the '38 degrees or below' won't arrive to kill off the plants for a few more weeks. It's a great ending for this summer. I've been growing these for over 10 years, each year trying something new. My first seeds back then, which I no longer grow, was the variety was (?)

Hi, I live in Brisbane Australia and my rhubarb is in its first year of planting and is doing quiet well, do I let the stalks and leaves on the first year and then just drop off or do I pick them off Thanks Gary

The leaves on rhubarb, asparagus, etc., are building up the crowns. If your soil is well fed and there are plenty of stalks. taking a few shouldn't hurt. You will need to hold the plant at the base as you harvest so as not to pull the plant out or damage the root system which is soft and spongy

I haven't tried it but would imagine it would thaw out soggy because of its high water content. Frozen Choko would be ideal to use in soup though. Chop it smll enough first.

Yes. That is what would happen naturally. Don't cover the seeds too deeply and mke sure they do not dry out.

All beets (root ones) are better if sown direct into the ground. They germinate fairly readily.
